l’affaire mourtada

i don’t like facebook too much, it is mainly a waste of time: if i want to contact my friends i prefer to write emails, if i want to satisfy my ego, i update my website. there is really no need for facebook on the web. but these days are so crazy that even facebook can become something to fight for, can become the flag of freedom of expression!
fouad mourtada is a young moroccan engineer and he probably thought that facebook could have been what it claims to be: just fun.

election times

very soon we will have to vote. the electoral campaign has already started but we have very limited knowledge of what the candidates will want to do if they will be elected. but these days it seems that electoral programs are not of great interest, except for a couple of evergreens that are always presents: less taxes for everyone, fight against terrorism and free candies for children (the first two of course, coincide with the third one). one thing we already know very well, however: the candidate’s soundtrack.

therefore, between him

and him

i would vote for him

happy 2008

my personal list of desiderata for the new year is like a composition made of many different colours. and for every colour, i have one wish:

  • yellow. i would like to see the discovery of a vaccine against malaria;
  • green. i would like to see the 2008 nobel peace price given to somebody that really deserve it;
  • red. i would like to see one (any-one, no matter who) italian politician saying “sorry” (they know for what);
  • orange. i would like to hear the muezzin singing in florence, and bells ringing in rabat;
  • purple. in 2008 i would like to see women celebrating catholic messes;
  • black. i would like to see an african politician give up power without hundreds of innocent deaths;
  • white. in 2008 i would like to see the snow at least once;
  • blue. i would like pietro to like “if“.

sounds like next december i am going to be frustrated, uh?
